Birth Choices We Offer
There are many options to consider when giving birth. Each birth site is usually chosen based on what the family feels is the safest option for them. We are here to help educate families on the risks and benefits to each birthing option so they can decide what option is best for them. We offer birth center birth, home birth, and are happy to prepare families for hospital birth by providing excellent prenatal care, support, and postpartum care.
Waterbirth
We are proud to offer water birth! Water birth is available at Summit Maternity Care birth center or in home. Women gravitate to water instinctively, especially during their birth process. The warm gentle caress of water while a woman is doing the hardest work of her life brings comfort, reduces stress, increases oxytocin and makes labor and birth easier. Warm water promotes improved blood circulation resulting in better oxygenation for the baby. Babies born in water are born in a peaceful way that encourages bonding between mom and baby immediately.
VBAC- Vaginal Birth After Cesarean
We are proud to offer VBAC at home or prenatal care, preparation, and postpartum care for families planning a hospital VBAC. Studies show 3 out of 4 women who do a trial of labor have a successful VBAC. There are many benefits to VBAC including shorter easier postpartum, higher breastfeeding success rates, avoiding major complications related to surgery, and many more!
